“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17)
Men need each other, especially in their pursuit of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
The world tells us to satisfy our every desire, that life is about me, my goals, achievements, and personal fulfillment. God’s Word teaches us that it’s not about me, it’s about dying to self and living a transformed life in Christ. True joy is found in seeing more of Christ and less of me.
How is a man to stand before such an onslaught? Time spent in prayer, in God’s Word and with like-minded men helps create a man after God’s own heart. Come join the men of Redeemer as we encourage one another in the pursuit of staying on the path that leads to life.
All men, young and old, are invited to Redeemer Church for a Men’s Breakfast on Saturday, September 13th at 8:30 a.m. for food for the soul and to meet and hear Dr. Frank Barker, pastor emeritus of Briarwood Presbyterian Church and former Naval Fighter Pilot, speak on his experience of developing a life of dependence upon God. Know that you will be encouraged if you attend!
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!” (Ecclesiastes 4:9–10)
